Apologies to Mr. Herbert, but the quote fits.
My priestess-training is still in its early stages, but crafting myself what will be of use to Him is a life-long project. I don't think priesthood training ever really stops.
Now, onto one of my favorite topics: my God.
Odin is best known as a God of warriors, heroes, and kings, so it seems odd that He would choose a woman with a severe physical disability to serve Him. Surely someone so "weak" couldn't be a representative of the Allfather, He who is Glad-of-War. Right.
Aside from the sheer hubris of a mortal deciding who and what a God is, who or who is not acceptable to serve, Odin is greater than any mortal definition, than any words set down by skalds or Icelandic scholars. He is the *All*father. He is the Attacking Rider, the Roarer, the God who compelled some of the blessed ancestors to maim themselves with life-threatening injury in the hopes that their deaths would find favor with Him. This is the God who cut a path to greater wisdom through His own flesh.
This is the God who calls to me, and it scares the ever-loving wits out of me. And I am falling all over myself in joy at finding my way to Him.
